Advocacy Director & Senior Attorney
Bill Dornbos is Advocacy Director and Senior Attorney, working from Acadia Center’s Hartford Office. As Advocacy Director, Bill oversees the advocacy work of Acadia Center’s state offices, helping guide tactics, messaging, and planning. Bill focuses on advancing policy and regulatory solutions that seek to transform the energy system and move the Northeast towards a climate-safe, sustainable future. Bill’s recent work includes advocating for electricity pricing reforms that maximize consumer control and incentivize energy efficiency and local renewables and advising energy efficiency programs through a seat on Connecticut’s Energy Efficiency Board. Before Acadia Center, Bill worked at the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy, at the Natural Resources Defense Council, and in the Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York Attorney General’s Office. He has a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, an MS in Resource Policy and Behavior also from U of M, and a BA in History from Carleton College.
