Maryamo Ali

Maryamo Ali is a researcher, sustainable educator, and environmental justice advocate from Columbus, Ohio. She is a graduate of Ohio State University, where she majored in Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability. As an advocate for bottom-up sustainable community development, Maryamo is passionate about community-based participatory research and accessible environmental education. Throughout her career, her roles with ENGIE North America and 2tonnes USA have helped to further strengthen her skills in carbon emissions analysis and climate adaptation planning. She is especially interested in multi-sector and multi-disciplinary solutions to climate change and hopes to explore these ideas as a Hazel M. Johnson Fellow through Black Girl Environmentalist with Acadia Center this summer. When she isn’t doing research, she enjoys hiking, reading, working on ceramics, and watching Formula 1.
