Acadia Center Comments on Rhode Island FY 23 EE Plan Filing
Acadia Center filed extensive comments with the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission regarding the utility’s FY 2023 EE Plan. Among the recommendations, Acadia Center urged the Commission to end incentives that perpetuate continued reliance on fossil gas and to direct additional funds towards Next Generation Energy Efficiency measures to accelerate delivery of weatherization and heating electrification improvements. Finally, Acadia Center expressed concerns that Rhode Island’s new utility owners were missing numerous opportunities to maximize energy savings as identified in the state’s Energy Efficiency Market Potential Study and encouraged the PUC to direct the Company to develop more ambitious efficiency measures and programs.
