Eres is a rising junior at Columbia University where she is pursuing a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Engineering. Last summer, Eres was an Energy Efficiency Research Intern at Stanford University’s Water and Energy Efficiency for the Environment (WE3) Lab. There, she focused on researching industrial demand response and compiling a dataset of industrial cost-saving programs. In presenting her findings, she provided insights for California residents about implications for power outages caused by industrial energy demand. Eres has experience in data analysis and is proficient in Python and creating datasets related to energy issues. At Columbia, she is heavily involved in the Black Students Organization and is an Egleston Scholar. She was recommended to Acadia Center through Black Girl Environmentalist, https://blackgirlenvironmentalist.org/hazel-m-johnson.
