Acadia Center coalition comments on Petitions for Approval to Terminate Power Purchase Agreements, DPU 22-70 through DPU 22-72
Acadia Center filed written coalition comments concerning petitions by Eversource Energy, National Grid, and Unitil to terminate power purchase agreements for offshore wind power in D.P.U. 22-70, D.P.U. 22-71, and D.P.U. 22-72, respectively. These agreements come with approximately $48 million in penalties for the offshore wind developer, Avangrid, which will go to ratepayers. In these comments, Acadia Center argues that these penalties should go to benefit low-income ratepayer relief and asks the DPU to ensure that the developers do not pass these costs on to future contracts.
