Acadia Center Comments on Maine PUC Docket 2020-00344

Acadia Center submitted written comments in response to Maine Public Utilities Commission Docket 2020-00344 Inquiry into Performance Metrics and Regulatory Mechanisms for Transmission and Distribution Utilities. Acadia Center believes the PUC should expand the use of incentives to improve utility performance across a range of issue areas, as well as to establish a transparent stakeholder process for developing performance metrics and incentives. Performance incentives can be a powerful tool in aligning utility business models with state policy goals. Acadia Center will continue to monitor this docket and participate as the docket continues and the PUC outlines next steps for stakeholder engagement.
