Acadia Center Provides Testimony in Support of Connecticut’s Adoption of the Advanced Clean Cars II Regulations
Acadia Center Provides Testimony in Support of Connecticut’s Adoption of the Advanced Clean Cars II Regulations On August 22, 2023, Acadia Center provided oral testimony to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection in support of adopting Advance Clean Cars II (ACC II) regulations. If ACC II is adopted, Connecticut will join eight states – including Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. ACC II sets increasing percentages of electric vehicles, including plug-in hybrid vehicles, to be introduced into Connecticut’s vehicle market starting with the 2027 model year. The goal of ACC II is that by 2035, 100% of new vehicles will be zero emissions. ACC II is a valuable emissions reduction tool, and decarbonizing the transportation sector is critical for achieving economy-wide emissions reductions in alignment with Connecticut’s Global Warming Solutions Act.
