Acadia Center Submits Comments on Connecticut’s Zero Carbon Energy Draft RFP
Acadia Center submitted comments to Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection suggesting the adoption of Acadia Center’s Next Generation Energy Efficiency principles when drafting their final zero carbon energy request for proposals (“RFP”). With Energy Efficiency/Demand Response listed as eligible technologies included in instant procurements in the draft RFP, we urge the final RFP to consider: 1) prioritizing housing quality improvements;
2) ensuring alignment with climate mitigation;
3) embracing clean heating and whole-house electrification;
4) and sustaining investments in efficiency as the leading energy resource.
