Influencing Rhode Island’s Energy Efficiency Plans in 2026
In 2026, Acadia Center provided written comments to Rhode Island Energy and the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on the state’s energy efficiency and system reliability plans and procedures. While Acadia Center supports the shift to binding three-year energy efficiency plans, Acadia Center and other stakeholders were unsuccessful in shifting that timeframe to 2028-2030, in order to align with the completion of the regional Avoided Energy Supply Component (AESC) study every three years. Feedback was also provided on the Least Cost Procurement Standards, Energy Efficiency Equity Working Group report, and the System Reliability Procurement framework.
