June 2026 – Providence, RI – In the 2026 legislative session, Acadia Center testified in support of the Equitable Participation in Utility Regulation Act to establish an intervenor compensation program before the House Corporations Committee and Senate Judiciary Committee. The attached one-pager provides an overview of the bill (H7890, S2727) and proposal for an intervenor support program. Article 11 of the enacted Fiscal Year 2027 Budget includes a requirement that the Public Utilities Commission explore and make recommendations for creation of an intervenor compensation program.
